What is DTF printing?

DTF is a printing process that replaces DTG. The film is transferred using a specific water-based ink, then dried, the powdered glue is applied to the back, and then heated and cured, ready for storage or immediate use. One of the nice things about DTF is that you don’t need to use pre-treated, powdered glues to do the work for you. Once hot pressed, the soft water-based ink is transferred to the garment in as little as 15 seconds. Transfer printing is best used on polyester and other non-cotton fabrics that are difficult to print with traditional DTG.

Designed primarily for cotton garments, DTF will never replace COTTON printing for DTG because of its low level of investment in stand-alone versions or fully automated systems for mass production transfer printing, it is a good choice for initial business.

Newly upgraded Roll feeder DTF: The project includes roller paper feeder + automatic heating station to reduce paper jam problems of traditional printers and improve printing efficiency and speed.

White ink management system: the white ink “mixing and recycling” function typically reduces the blockage of the print head and greatly extends the service life of the print head.

Best after-sales service: because DTF is a new technology, we have established a professional after-sales team. After you purchase the printer, we will provide you with high quality remote service.

Is DTF printing good?

DTF printing has revolutionized the textile industry and updated textile creation for the digital age. The process is simple: digital artwork is created, printed on film, and then transferred onto fabric. More advantages of DTF printing:

  • It’s easy to learn
  • Pretreatment of fabric isn’t required
  • The process uses about 75% less ink
  • Better print quality
  • Compatible with many types of material
  • Unmatched quality and high productivity
  • Requires less space than other technologies

Things You Should Know About DTF Technology

Quality equipment is essential

If you own a printing business, you already know that the quality of your work is only as good as the quality of your printer and ink. This is especially true when it comes to DTF printing. As with other heat transfer processes, you must invest in high quality printers and hot presses to get the best results.

Not all PET films can do the job

DTF printing requires PET film, but this does not mean that every type of PET film is suitable for DTF process. For best results, choose printable double-sided cold stripping film. Untreated, low-quality films may be cheaper, but they simply can’t compete with the performance of double-sided cold-stripped films — they can get dirty, don’t accept adhesives, or ruin your outfit. The cold stripping film is specially treated to withstand the high temperature and pressure of the hot press. It is also compatible with all desktop and large-format printers. The film can be purchased in sheets or rolls for large operations.

The fabric does not require pretreatment

One of the many advantages of DTF printing is that garments can be transferred without any preprocessing. This simplifies your operations and potentially reduces your costs. Overall, THE DTF printing process is faster and requires less labor than DTG printing.

DTF printing offers greater versatility

When printing directly on textiles, your options are limited. DTF gives you more flexibility as you can print on a variety of fabrics including cotton, polyester, rayon, nylon, silk, leather and more.
